Ronald Fischer was born on September 10, 1955, and is admitted to the Bar in North Dakota, the United States Federal District Court for the states of North Dakota, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Claims Court, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court.A 1980 graduate, Mr. Fischer received a Juris Doctorate with Distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law and was a member of Order of the Coif. Mr. Fischer has been licensed in the state of North Dakota as a Certified Public Accountant since 1978, but is currently not in the practice of public accounting. Mr. Fischer has a bachelor’s degree from Mary College (n/k/a University of Mary), Bismarck , North Dakota , with majors in Business Administration and Accounting.

Mr. Fischer served as a trial attorney for the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice from 1980-1985. In 1983 Fischer was the recipient of United States Department of Justice Tax Division Outstanding Attorney award. In 1984 Mr. Fischer received a special commendation by the Attorney General of the United States of America . Mr. Fischer has been a member of the North Dakota Federal District Court Civil Advisory Group (1991-1994). Mr. Fischer is listed in Who’s Who in American Law (7th and 10th Ed.), Who’s Who Among Rising Young Americans (1992 Ed.) and has received the highest available rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubbel Law Directory.

Mr. Fischer is engaged in the general practice of law with emphasis in civil litigation, business litigation, employment law, insurance and the defense of governmental entities. He has extensive trial and appellate experience, as well as experience using arbitration and mediation to resolve disputes.

Mr. Fischer is also the past Chair of the North Dakota Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Board. Mr. Fischer also served on the North Dakota Judicial Conduct Commission from 2010 through 2016. Mr. Fischer currently serves on the Inquiry Committee Northeast, dealing with ethical complaints against North Dakota lawyers.

Mr. Fischer has been inducted into The American College of Trial Lawyers. The American College of Trial Lawyers, founded in 1950, is widely considered to be the premier professional organization in America . It is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada .
